FAQ – frequently asked questions

Hunting

Die JAEGER 10 hat eine Remington 700 Montagebasis. Some versions (e.g. JAEGER 10 Varmint and Varmint Sporter) are equipped with Picatinny rail as standard. This rail is optionally available ex works for an additional charge. All common riflescopes (both fixed and quick mounts) can be easily mounted with this.

The Varmint and Varmint Sporter variants have a muzzle thread with cover – but no open sights. All other Jaeger 10 versions have the individually configurable i-Sight system consisting of removable rear sight and front sight as well as M 15×1 muzzle thread as standard.

The Jaeger 10 Standard is only available in wood class 1. The Timber LX and Lady Timber versions come in wood class 4.

The weapon has a muzzle thread M15x1. The barrels are matched to our JGR suppressor from B&T (Switzerland). The JGR overbarrel silencer extends the barrel by only 14 cm. The leading Jaeger 10 for silencers is the short version Compact SD.

The twist is different with each calibre – you will find the details with the individual rifle models under “Technical Details”.

Sports

For the RS- and CR-series, there are BKA determination notices that allow sporting use if a corresponding sporting authorisation is available. A green WBK (hunting) also allows the acquisition of both weapon systems.

C.G. Haenel is the general importer for weapons and silencers of our Swiss system partner B&T. Distribution takes place exclusively through specialist arms dealers.

The CR series, with the exception of the CR223, has a variable throttle pick-up and can thus be adjusted for silencer operation.

Haenel offers the same rifle systems for both sporting and authority use – for sporting use, only 10-round magazines and certain special accessories are permitted in Germany. The weapons regulations in your country apply.

Defence

The rifles of the RS and CR series are used by the Bundeswehr, special units and state police forces.

No. Authority models are adapted to individual operational needs and have individual modifications. These variants are given exclusively to public authorities.

The CR223 is compatible with conventional M4 magazines. However, the Haenel weapons were only tested with the original magazines.

Yes, the CR223 is OTB tested, as is the MK556. OTB stands for “over the beach” and means that the rifle can be fired quickly and safely when taken out of the water.
