Precision Rifle System RS8 / RS9
With RS8 / RS9, C.G. Haenel from Suhl offers a sniper rifle system specially developed for police and military use. The bolt-action rifle sets a benchmark in ergonomics and modularity. The weapon can be adjusted to the shooter’s needs and the situation without tools. A modern precision rifle that combines high functionality with impressive precision. The RS9 has been introduced in the Bundeswehr as the G29; likewise in various special units of the German police. The production process behind the system complies with industry standard ISO9001 and NATO standards.

The precision rifle – in four variants
The sniper rifles of the Haenel RS series are available for short and medium shooting distances as RS8 Basic, as short Compact version and as Subsonic variant with silencer barrel – all three in .308 Win. The RS9 is designed for long shooting distances and uses the .338 Lapua Magnum calibre.

The RS8 is the basis of the RS system - the precision bolt action rifle is optimised for a high action radius at medium to long shooting distances. The basic version is ergonomically highly variable and available in 7.62 x 51 mm (.308 Win.) and 6.5 Creedmoor calibre.

RS8 Compact
Short and handy: The Compact-variant of the RS8 with an increased barrel diameter for maximum precision on average shooting distances. It is approx. 9 cm shorter than the Basic-variant and available in the calibre 7,62 x 51 mm.

RS8 Subsonic
The RS8 with integrated silencer/suppressor: The twist of the barrel - as well as the special silencer - is matched to subsonic ammunition in calibre 7.62 x 51 mm. The silencer concept comes from Haenel's system partner B&T in Switzerland.

RS9 STANDARD
The precision rifle RS9 (Rifle System 9) is the most powerful variant of the Haenel RS family. The rifle in .338 Lapua Magnum calibre is used by special police units. The weapon has also been introduced in the Bundeswehr as the medium-range sniper rifle G29.
