Quiet hunting, natural handling: the new REDUX 3D over-barrel sound suppressors from C. G. Haenel
For many hunters, sound suppressors are now a standard part of their equipment. They significantly reduce muzzle blast, lessen the strain on the hearing of both shooter and hunting dog, and make shooting more comfortable. At the same time, the rifle needs to retain its natural handling: whether stalking, waiting in a high seat or taking part in a driven hunt, it must still feel agile and familiar with the suppressor fitted.
With the new REDUX 3D and REDUX 3D Compact, C. G. Haenel is introducing two over-barrel sound suppressors designed to meet precisely these requirements. Both models are manufactured entirely using 3D metal printing and combine high sound-reduction performance with low weight and compact dimensions.
Maximum performance with balanced handling
Unlike conventional on-barrel sound suppressors, the REDUX 3D’s over-barrel design extends back over part of the barrel. This brings part of its mass closer to the rifle’s centre of gravity, helping the rifle retain its familiar handling characteristics.
The REDUX 3D adds just 13.5 cm to the rifle’s overall length, weighs around 340 g and reduces muzzle blast by up to 35 dB(C).
Compact version for maximum pointability
For hunters who place particular emphasis on keeping their rifle as compact as possible, Haenel also offers the sand-coloured REDUX 3D Compact. Adding just 10.5 cm to the rifle’s overall length, weighing approximately 290 g and delivering sound reduction of up to 30 dB(C), it is particularly well suited to short, quick-handling rifles such as the LR/ONE Short, as well as any other rifle in the.30 calibre group with an M15×1 thread.
Engineering straight from the printer
3D metal printing enables a highly complex internal geometry that would be extremely difficult to achieve using conventional manufacturing methods. The one-piece design reduces potential weak points while enabling an optimum combination of strength, low weight and efficient gas flow.
To ensure high durability under sustained use, the heavily stressed blast-baffle area has been reinforced with a steel insert. This makes the REDUX 3D suitable not only for hunting, but also for intensive training sessions on the shooting range or in a shooting cinema.
Developed with sound-suppressor expertise
The REDUX 3D was developed in collaboration with Swiss specialist B&T, whose many years of experience in developing high-quality sound suppressors informed the design. The distinctive honeycomb pattern emphasises the suppressor’s modern character while also reflecting its innovative manufacturing technology.
