Jaeger EVO combines precision with
perhaps the best stock in its class
perhaps the best stock in its class

C.G. Haenel is placing a new bolt-action rifle between the Jaeger 10 and Jaeger NXT: the Jaeger EVO combines the dynamic Haenel Composite stock with the smooth loading process of a classic bolt-action. And it has the genes of a precision rifle.
The ergonomics of the rifle determine the success of the hunt. An old rule of thumb is that a hunting rifle can only shoot as well as its stock allows. It is the decisive factor for a safe shot, a good feeling for the weapon, and a better hunt. The Jaeger EVO bolt action combines what is perhaps the best synthetic stock in the mid-price segment ‘Made in Germany’ with a classic smooth loading process.
Opinions are divided on bolt action rifles: some favour the straight pull, others the classic locking mechanism. The idea behind the EVO: to equip a classic bolt action system with a stock that offers the ergonomic advantages that were previously mostly reserved for fast shooting with straight pull rifles.
Composite stock sets standards in its class
The composite stock of the new rifle sets standards in its class: characteristic features of the design are the push-button adjustable comb for the optimal sight line and interchangeable butt plates in different thicknesses for adaptation to the arm length or the season (i.e. clothing thickness). The fore-end is adapted to the anatomy of the gripping hand and meets the requirements of different grip preferences, hand sizes and arm lengths. And last but not least: two-component soft-touch surfaces on the pistol grip and fore-end make the stock easy to grip in all weather conditions.
And the Jaeger EVO combines this stock with the unsurpassed reliability of the bolt action with three locking lugs and the classic three-position wing safety: forward: unlocked. Middle position: firing pin secured, but the chamber can be opened for loading and unloading. Back: firing pin locked, chamber blocked. The lock also has a cocking pin directly next to the safety lever – as an indicator of the cocking status. It and the wing safety make the system status palpable at all times – an added safety feature at night and when gun at attention.
Ergonomically optimised all-rounder
For Marius Vollath, Haenel’s new sales and marketing manager, the EVO is the all-rounder among rifles: „With this stock, it is simply universally applicable and thus combines conventional hunting from a hide with the option of stalking and driven hunts“.
The action of the EVO comes from the LR/ONE precision rifle – so it offers everything you need for accurate shooting. The rest is a combination of Haenel virtues: the rifle has a cold-hammer forged barrel made in Suhl and was developed for the demands of law enforcement (precision, durability). It has a Picatinny mounting base milled into the system, which stands for accurate, simple and versatile mounting options. The hunting rifle is prepared for the iSight system as standard, which allows flexible use of open sights (accessory). The M15x1 muzzle thread is available as standard, too. This gives the user flexible options for using a silencer and a muzzle brake.
