The HMR “Marksman” from Haenel:
Semi-automatic rifle enhanced for the precision shooter

Self-loading rifle with add-ons:
New shoulder stock, side-loading lever, new match trigger

With the HMR „Marksman”, the Suhl-based firearms manufacturer C.G. Haenel presents a self-loading rifle in the AR10 class that meets with the highest standard of precision and ergonomics. The self-loader is designed for precision shooting in the prone position as well as for use when shooting actively on the move. This combination gives the rifle a universal application. The HMR is a Marksman concept, i.e. for the mobile precision shooter at medium and higher range. Haenel thus endorses its expertise in long range shooting to interested sports shooters. The classic .308 Win. precision caliber is a perfect match.

Precision at long-range level

The CR self-loading rifles from Haenel have also earned a good reputation for long-range precision. This was the decisive factor for Haenel to develop a new rifle from the CR basis, which extends the range of applications of the proven system. With the HMR “Marksman”, C.G. Haenel has added a few decisive premium functions to the successful principle: the central loading lever on the top of the receiver has been dispensed with. Instead, the rifle has been redesigned with a left-mounted lever. This gives the shooter an ergonomic advantage in handling: Long-range shooting often takes place while lying down – and this is made possible with the side lever.

Handling possible lying down

The elimination of the rear loading lever also makes it possible to use the new cheek rest with the new shoulder rest familiar from the CR rifle: the cheek rest is longer than the standard and height-adjustable (+ 22 mm) using a knurled nut. The height of the shoulder rest cap for insertion into the shoulder can also be adjusted by means of press studs on both sides (+/- approx. 30 mm).

New precision trigger

The rifle is designed as an HMR – Haenel Marksman Rifle – for high precision and long shooting distances. A special trigger has been developed for professionals, which has match characteristics and a lot to offer in terms of detail. The user can adjust it to trigger weights between 1,200 and 2,000 grams to suit their preferences; this also applies to the length of the trigger pull. A detail for practitioners: the trigger adjustment screw is limited and captive. The new precision trigger has a clear pressure point and gives the shooter precise feedback on the technique and timing of the shot release. The rifle has a trigger safety with downstream firing pin safety. In contrast to many AR variants, this design allows the weapon to be fully loaded when the safety is engaged. The handguard has NAR and M-Lok mounts for attaching accessories. An A2 flash hider is fitted to the muzzle of the HMR.
